Policies

Vaccination Requirements: We know only the safest environment would be acceptable for your pet! Therefore, all pets must be current on all vaccinations including rabies, dhlppc, bordatella, and a negative fecal floatation test every 6 months. We also require pets to be on heartworm prevention (seasonal) and flea & tick prevention and to have a negative heartworm test annually. Records must be faxed in advance to our office by your pets' veterinarian; 269 857-8379.

Reservations: We highly recommend making reservations well in advance, especially for spring break and all major holidays.

Refund Policy : Please make your plans carefully as there are no refunds for early pick up your pet. Any changes to your reservation must be done 72 hours prior to your scheduled drop off day and time.

Holiday Refund Policy: There will be no refunds for holiday reservations!  If you are booking your
pet for Christmas/New Years, Spring Break, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day or Thanksgiving you must secure your reservation with a Visa or Mastercard.  Your credit card will not be charged unless you cancel your reservation and your dog's spot can not be filled

Aggressive Dogs: Because of the way our facility is set up, we are prepared to handle aggressive dogs. Each case will be determined on an individual basis. Because your pet cannot play in the Community Play Yard, you might consider a 30 minute nature walk. See a-la-carte services.

Shy Dogs: Because our suites are private, it is very suitable for the shy dog. If your dog is a little overwhelmed with playing in the Community Play Yard, you might consider a 30 minute nature walk. See a-la-carte services.

Destructive Dogs: Please inform us if you have a destructive dog. You will be responsible for anything your dog destroys as far as toys, bedding, furniture, etc. You might consider bringing your pet’s own belongings. Just a reminder, we will not be responsible for these items.

Medication Policy: A Medication form must be filled out and on file. Medication must be in it’s original container with your name on it. We will record the time and dose of medication on your daily activity report.

Emergency Policy: All our staff will be required to take a certified dog First Aid and CPR course as soon as it becomes available. In the event of an emergency, we will notify you at the number designated on your kennel records for emergencies. If we can not reach you, your pet will be taken to Ottawa Animal Hospital, or a local veterinarian of your choice for treatment. You will be responsible for any and all fees associated with the treatment of your dog.

Illness Policy: Please do not bring your dog if s/he has any of the following:

  • fleas
  • parasites
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • contagious skin condition
  • cough
  • sneezing, runny eyes and/or nose

If your dog shows signs of any of these conditions while in our care, we will take your pet to Ottawa Animal Hospital or a local vet of your choice.
